Last Alarm is the alarm clock you can't cheat.

How the cost of snoozing is calculated

The math is simple. We take the minutes you snooze each day, multiply by how many days a week you do it, and add it up across all 52 weeks of the year. That gives the total hours you spend in the low-quality, fragmented sleep that happens between alarms.

Then we value that time at your hourly wage. If you entered an annual salary, we divide it by 2,080 (a standard 40-hour work year) to get your hourly rate. The result is what your snooze time would be worth if you spent it the way you spend your working hours.

Snoozing costs more than money, too. The extra minutes after your first alarm are spent in light, broken sleep that can leave you groggier than if you had simply gotten up, an effect sleep researchers call sleep inertia. You pay twice: once in time, and once in how you feel for the rest of the morning.

That is the problem Last Alarm was built to solve. Instead of a snooze button, it asks you to complete a quick verification task to turn the alarm off, so you are actually up and moving instead of drifting back to sleep.
